Mr. Lu's sharing triggered much active debate among audiences while they tried to distinguish between charity fundraising marketing efforts and business marketing and also the issue of fundraising cost accounting practices. While the objectives of charity fundraising and business marketing are different, most of the audience agreed that the non-profit and commercial sectors need to recognize the mutual benefits from learning from the skills and strength of each other. On matter of recognizing the true cost of fundraising, the audience concluded that the mass media could play an important role to spread the awareness and generate support among the community including government, enterprise and the public.
