Professor Tan Thiam Soon assists the Provost in setting educational directions and policies for the University, in ensuring high academic standards, and in education quality assurance.Prof Tan is a professor with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and was Dean of Admissions from 2005 to 2007 and before that, Vice-Dean for Undergraduate Programmes in the Faculty of Engineering.

Prof Heng Chye Kiang is the Dean of School of Design (SDE) and Environment at the National University of Singapore. In 2009 he set up at SDE the Centre for Sustainable Asian Cities of which he is currently the advisor. He studied architecture at the Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture, and urban design at the Ecole Nationale des Travaux Publics de I’Etat. He did his PhD at the University of California at Berkeley.

Ng Wun Jern graduated with BSc (Civil Engineering – QMC-London University), MSc (Water Resources Engineering) and PhD (Birmingham University), and had postdoctoral training at Kyoto University. He is a licensed professional engineer.He researches water and wastewater management issues such as water quality, and treatment science and technology. He argues for a sustainable approach to environmental management through energy recovery.
